1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
We also used conventions through the costume design. In the scene from 'The last Exorcism' the exorcist is dressed in a shirt and tie as well as some formal trousers. Therefore, we decided to dress our exorcist in formal trousers, a shirt, tie and a smart jumper.
Another way we used conventions, was through the business cards. In 'The Last Exorcism' a bible was used at the start to tell us the genre of the film. We then used this idea, but used business cards to show our genre. On the cards , was the writing ' Elsey's Exorcisms'. The use of this tells us automatically that the film involves exorcists, therefore is a religious movie.
The props was also a key part of the opening for conventions. In the conjuring, we can see that there is a noose hanging from the tree. This creates the idea of death and suicide. With our film involving death and suicide we decided to include a close-up of a noose.
