The effect of Mise-En-Scene

Mise-en-scene is:

  • What you can see.
  • Setting and props.
  • Costume, hair and make up.
  • Facial expressions and body language.
  • Lighting and colour.
  • Positioning of people and objects.

For example, the use of costume in this Mise-en-scene gives me the feeling that this girl is very innocent, this may have something to do with the fact that she is wearing a pink and fluffy jumper. It could also be the way that her hair is in pig tails that also gives me the feeling that she is a child and is vulnerable.
I can also see from the girls facial expressions and body language that she is very anxious and worried, maybe confused.
