What must i do for the preliminary task?

The preliminary task includes filming and editing. It must have:
  • A character entering the room (through the door)
  • He then continues to walk across the room
  • There are two characters in the room who both sit opposite to each other 
  • Then the characters converse for a few minutes 
In the preliminary task you must include a few editing skills, such as:
  • Match on action
  • 180 degree rule
  • Shot reverse shot
Match on Action
Match on action is an editing technique where the shot cuts to another shot whilst the same character is still doing the same action.

Shot Reverse Shot 

Shot reverse shot is an editing technique where you are looking over the shoulder of a character and you can see his point of view of another character or and object. The point of view then switches to the other characters point of view, but in the same shot.

180 degree rule

The final technique is the 180 degree rule. this shot shows the position of two characters, the two characters will then be filmed standing on a straight line, so the camera cannot move past that line because it will then look like the characters are standing in different positions.
