Mood Board

Why do we use mood boards?

We use mood boards to give us a better understanding of what direction we need to go with our final task. A collection of photos and designs may help us with characters, costumes, locations, props and many other aspects of the opening.

As you can see from this mood board, me and my group have decided to base our horror opening on a religious horror film. In the mood board we can see a number of religious items and characters. For example, in the bottom of the board we can see a picture of a bible, this is one of if not the most recognized religious objects around and it will play a key part in our film. You can also see a priest in the mood board. A priest is a key figure head in religion, and will also feature in our film, by looking at pictures of priests, we will gain a better understanding of what costume our character will be wearing, as a priest may be involved in the opening. The mood board also has a picture of the devil in the top left. The antagonist in our film maybe the devil or some kind of demon, by looking at pictures of demons, it will help us get an idea of what we want our antagonist to look like. Also included in the mood board is a picture of a church. A church is a very holy and religious building, this means it will be perfect for our film. Looking a pictures of churches will tell us where we should set our opening and what that location will represent.

This was a group task, where me and my peers merged all of our ideas to create a mood board.
